As of December 31 2011 the Foundation has invested in 24 microfinance institutions (MFIs), 4 social-business projects and one funds to cover exchange risk.
In 15 countries: Cambodia, Kosovo, Madagascar, Indonesia, Kenya, Tanzania, Timor Leste, Mali, Senegal, the Philippines, Egypt, Democratic Republic of Congo, Bangladesh, Tadjikistan and Azerbaidjan;.
With a total of 24.4 million euros approved, our MFIs support more than 1.22 million beneficiaries, of whom:
- 91% are women
- 74% live in rural areas.
- 38% live in Sub-saharian Africa
